Duluth, MN
In many of your home gardens the vegetables that you nursed since spring are finally beginning to look appetizing.
Ken Jackson, a 3 year vet of the rooftop gardening program says, "There are lots of tomatoes as you can see and the beans are real good at this point. Then I have a few measly little carrots that I planted later, maybe I'll get a carrot or two out of that."
Despite a flood, a drought, and unusually hot weather, the Duluth Rooftop Garden has still produced a healthy crop.
"It's a great place to garden. Also if you are a new time gardener, you can get information with help in doing this. It's a wonderful program." said Jackson
Jackson is a patient gardener, taking time to share his knowledge with fellow bed planters.
And with the harvesting season fast approaching, you can easily stop on top of the rooftop garden and grab a little something for dinner, or you can actually grab yourself a snack for right now!
"I'll come up sometimes and just bring a sandwich, grab a tomato and enjoy the surroundings." Said Jackson
