Cruise Ship Killer Sentenced to Life in Prison

According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, a 57-year-old California man was sentenced to life in prison Thursday for killing his wife aboard a cruise ship in 2009.

Robert McGill, who pleaded guilty in July to second-degree murder, received the maximum sentence, according to the Union-Tribune story. McGill killed his wife, Shirley, while the couple was on a five-day cruise to Mexico, according to the Union-Tribune story.
