Baby Boom: Twin Births Rise in U.S. Over Last Three Decades

Twin births have become much more common in the United States over the last 30 years.

According to data released Wednesday by the National Center for Health Statistics, one of every 30 infants born in 2009 was a twin. That's an increase of 76 percent from 1980 ,when one of every 53 infants born was a twin.
