Man Exonerated After 16 Years in Prison Awarded $25 Million by Jury

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, an Illinois man who was wrongly imprisoned for 16 years was awarded $25 in damages by a federal grand jury on Tuesday.

The man, who was released from prison in 2009, had been convicted of a 1993 murder -- when he was 13 -- according to the Sun-Times. Another man has been charged in connection with that murder and is awaiting trial, the Sun-Times story said.
