Female Inmate Freed After 49 Years in Prison

She's finally free.

According to The Arizona Republic, an Arizona woman who was the nation's longest-serving female inmate has been released after 49 years in prison.

The woman, 69, was released Monday following a parole hearing, according to The Arizona Republic report. She had been in prison since being convicted of murdering a 15-month-old girl in 1963, according to The Arizona Republic report.
