Body Found On The Iron Range

Crews searching for a missing man on the Iron Range recovered a body in a Virginia mine pit Thursdsy... but they don't believe it was the person they were looking for.

28 year old Dustin Damm of Mountain Iron went missing Tuesday morning - his vehicle was found near the pit.

Damm is described as 6 feet tall and 150 pounds, with brown eyes and a shaved head.

The body recovered was an adult male... but five foot ten and 180 pounds, with dark brown shoulder length hair.

He also has small scars on the forehead and left chin, a tattoo on the right wrist, and the tip of the left index finger is missing.

The search for Damm continues he suffers from mental illness, and officials are asking residents in Virginia to search their property for any sign of him.

An employee at Mineview in the Sky, which overlooks the pit, says crews have been out on the water and in the air.

Officials are asking anyone with information on either case to call the 911 communications center.
