Coleman Campaigns In Northland

By KBJR News 1

U.S. Senator Norm Coleman made several campaign stops in Northeastern Minnesota Tuesday.

He talked with constituents at the Hometown Family restaurant in Hibbing.

Some of their concerns centered on the economy and rising energy costs.

The Senator says he's in favor of offshore drilling on the Gulf Coast, more nuclear power plants, and increased conservation and renewable energy efforts.

He says the biggest difference between him and opponent Al Franken is experience.

"The fact I've spent 30 years serving the people of Minnesota in a positive, uplifting way that's brought people together, gotten things done.
I've built a national hockey arena in St. Paul, am leading the way for energy independence in the US senate, and I'm running against a guy who came back here two years ago, doesn't have a record of doing anything about bringing people together. The partisan divide is already too bad in Washington. We don't need someone who's going to throw more fuel on the fire."

Senator Coleman also made stops in Walker, Brainerd and Duluth.
