Polish National Indicted Grand Marais Smuggling Plot

A Polish National has been indicted in a plot to smuggle two illegal immigrants into the US at Grand Marais.

31 year old Marek Jerzy Struzik has been charged with one count of alien smuggling.

The US Attorney says border patrol agents arrested two men after Struzik helped them cross the Pigeon River.

One of the Illegal immigrants is from Poland and the other from Slovakia.

According to his statement, Struzik claimed a man in Poland paid him to help the men.

All three men were arrested on August first.

If convicted Struzik faces a potential maximum penalty of ten years in prison.
