Grand Rapids Mill Closes

An Iron Range mill that had not been in operation since 2006 is now permanently closed.

The Ainsworth Lumber Company announced the closure of their oriented strand board mill Tuesday, citing the company's need to be competitive both today and over the long term.

The Grand Rapids mill was built in 1980 and was acquired by Ainsworth in 2004 as part of the acquisition of Potlatch Corporation's OSB business.
