A motorized La-Z-Boy recliner used in a drunken driving incident is heading straight for E-Bay.

Police say Dennis LeRoy Anderson drove the custom-built chair into a parked car while intoxicated.

Authorities seized the chair after it was discovered he was three times over the legal limit during the time of the crash.

His guilty plea last week made international headlines.

And now the cops have decided to auction off the famous chair on E-Bay.

Authorities say bidding will likely begin on Thursday.

The Proctor Police Chief said his department has already received a $500 offer for the chair.

Lets look at the facts here. (1) Anderson was intoxicated, 3 times the legal limit B.A.C. (2) Why is he "Entitled to get the chair back? He chose to drink and drive, so now he has to deal with the recourse. and (3) the city of Proctor cannot choose what to do with the money the state mandates where the money goes, not the chief of Police. Because of what happened does not make Mr Anderson a bad person. He made a bad decision, life goes on.

Denny is my cousin and is a good man. What a sad way for the PROCTOR POLICE TO MAKE MONEY. DENNY IS RIGHT WHEN HE SAID THE MONEY MADE FROM THE CHAIR SHOULD GO TO THE FOOD SHELF OR PROCTOR SCHOOL. WHY NOT LET HIM HAVE HIS CHAIR BACK AND LET HIM DO WHAT HE WANTS WITH IT???? lIKE WE DON'T PAY ENOUGH IN FEES AND TAXES IN THIS STATE.IT'S NOT OK FOR HIM TO HAVE HIS CHAIR BUT IT'S OK FOR THE PROCTOR POLICE TO SELL IT FOR SOMEONE ELSE'S USE. WHAT A JOKE.

Being a resident of Proctor I know that the only law enforcement we get is traffic, so this "High Crime" being solved is no surprise to me. They could buy another radar gun with the cash.
