The public library in Virginia has come up with a strategic five year plan in hopes to better serve the community.

Libraries in the Arrowhead Association used money from the Minnesota Department of Education to hire a consultant to conduct a survey to find out what community members would like to see at their local library.

The Virginia Public Library's plan includes three goals.

They are focusing on education for children of all ages, lifelong learning and readily available technology.

"We put together a strategic plan so that everyone in the community and city council, everyone who participates in the library, will have a clear direction of where the library's taking," said Director Nancy Maxwell.

Maxwell says they'll also work with other organizations in Virginia to reach their goals.
