On Sunday, November 29th at 2pm at the Chisholm city hall, Congressman Jim Oberstar will be presented with an award from Northeast Law Enforcement Administrators’ Council (NLEAC).

The award is in appreciation of Oberstar’s support of the organization over the last several years.

Oberstar helped NLEAC secure funding to assist area law enforcement agencies in reducing and eliminating methamphetamine issues and related crimes in communities throughout northeastern Minnesota.

“Congressman Oberstar has worked tirelessly to help us,” said Chisholm Police Chief Scott Erickson. “He was there when we needed help.”

The Northeast Law Enforcement Administrator’s Council (NLEAC) is made up of various law enforcement agencies in seven counties in northeastern Minnesota.

These agencies range from local police department to sheriff’s department to the Minnesota State Patrol.

NLEAC includes nearly 30 law enforcement agencies which cover 18,000 square miles.
