Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - Twin Ports businesses and organizations, both large and small, got a primer today on using social media to build relationships and make money.

It was all part of the 2nd annual Zenith Duluth SocialCon.

The day-long event included lectures, roundtable discussions and workshops ranging from the basics of social media to making money with the different tools available.

Those in attendance, with phones, laptops and notebooks in hand took notes from world renowned speakers who touched on skills that will help get a brand's message across the different platforms.

The reoccurring theme of the day was to tell your brand's story via text, images and video to succeed in today's digital world.

"I think that my business has a great story to tell. That's what I want to get out there is the story of my business and so building clientele by telling my story is what I am looking at doing," said Amanda Bruce, who owns PetCare of Duluth

"People don't click on boring, that's the whole thing. You need to really stand out and you can't use stock images like you use to," said Lisa Buyer, a social PR expert.

An estimated 250 people attended Thursday's event hosted by online marketing agency aimClear and the Duluth Area Chamber of Commerce.
