SUPERIOR, WISC. -----"You know the city of Superior wants to KO- K2," Mayor Dave Ross announced Wednesday at the Government Center Atrium.

The city of Superior officially announced it's plan to follow suit with Duluth and pass an ordinance banning the sale of synthetic substances in the city.

Officials have asked that the city council not go through the usual committee process but to instead take immediate action and pass the ordinance at the council meeting on Tuesday night.

The plan, according to City Attorney Frog Prell is to keep the ordinance up front and proactive to ensure that all synthetic drugs will be banned from sale in Superior.

"I have a great deal of confidence that this ordinance will capture a great many of the products that are out there right now causing the ill effects that we are addressing." Prell said.

The template of the ordinance has been borrowed from several other communities who have enforced this protocol.
