Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- Superior kicked off the holiday weekend with a 4th of July car show and street sales along Tower Avenue.

People lined the streets all day since Friday morning's parade in downtown Superior.

Northlanders and people who traveled from afar for the event got to enjoy a car show, with old antique cars lining Tower Avenue.

They also got a chance to soak in some live music and shop at the many local outdoor vendors.

People at the celebration said the beautiful weather is reflecting the positive energy seeping out of the thousands of festival goers.

Vendors also say it's a great opportunity to spend money on products made right in our own backyard.

"It's awesome to get local vendors out, and get everybody out, walking, talking, and shopping locally," said chocolatier, Sherry Johnson.

"We got all these beautiful cars here, we've got fireworks later. It's Americana! It's everything that we want," said antique car owner Kevin Kitchak.

You can find everything from chocolate sweets and patriotic popcorn, to wood carvings and jewelry, among many others along Tower Avenue.

The festival really showcased how hard people in the community have worked to revitalize Superior's north end.
