Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - Police were called to the College of St. Scholastica shortly after 9:30 Thursday to deal with a male student who had allegedly made a threat.

The exact nature of the alleged threat hasn't been released but police say it involved students, faculty and staff in the Science Center building.

A partial lockdown followed with several classroom doors locked.
Duluth police say the man was quickly located and taken to the hospital.

Police say they don't expect to file charges.

CSS officials say the incident never posed a danger for students, faculty or staff.

"There was a very brief lockdown of a few of our classes. The situation was resolved peacefully and no one was injured and classes resumed very shortly there after," Bob Ashenmacher, Executive Director of Communications at CSS, said.

CSS officials sent an emergency alert by email and text message to all students and campus employees.

Communications Director Bob Ashenmacher says councilors are available if students experience any concerns.
