Santa visited Miller Hill Mall today to spread Christmas joy to children with disabilities.

Caring Santa made accommodations for children with special needs they could take photos with Santa and their family.

The event took place when the mall was closed to avoid over stimulation and other factors that may trigger a negative response in a special needs child.

Mrs. Claus joined Santa and read "Santa is coming to Duluth," to the children.

"They get special time with Santa. It's a little bit slower and not quite so many kids and they can spend a little extra time," says Claus.

Caring Santa is fully prepared to handle behaviors that a child with a disability may exhibit.

The event allowed some families to have their first ever family portrait taken with Santa.
