Burnett County, WI (NNCNOW.com) --- Charges are expected to be filedThursday for a Waupan Police Officer turned fugitive that led police on a day long search Tuesday following a robbery.
Officer Bradley Young is behind bars in Burnett County.
He is facing felony charges in Burnett after he allegedly burglarized a house in the area.
Authorities say that Young called 911 and turned himself in without incident at that same house located on South Lost Lake Road in Webb Lake.
Young is wanted in connection with several other burglaries in Green Lake County, as well as stealing a vehicle in Barron County. He will also face charges for eluding police officers...all of which are felonies.
Young is currently a police lieutenant for the Waupun police department.
His experience with law enforcement prompted police to take more precautions during their search.
"We try to plan and prepare knowing that in this situation he knows many of our tactics. He knows what we can and cannot be capable of doing. So it basically part of our game plan to outthink him," said Capt. Ron Bauers with the Barron County Sheriff's Dept.
Authorities told us on scene Tuesday night that they do prepare for the worst in situations like this, but they are grateful that this ended peacefully and with an arrest.
Police are still trying to establish a motive.
Captain Bauers with the Barron County Sheriff's Department told us there is no reason for a current police officer to be involved in this kind of activity.
He said investigators were spending their night last night talking to Young to try find out what led to his behavior.
Young is expected to appear in court at 11 a.m. Thursday.
