Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - Duluth residents gathered tonight to learn about proposed changes to natural gas rates in the city.
Under the resolution, Duluth Public Utilities Commissioners are considering a natural gas price hike of nearly five percent starting April 1 of 2013.
That's over a three dollar monthly increase for residents.
Many at the public hearing were opposed to the increase saying that it its another financial burden they would have to bare.
"Please know that our members at the Duluth City Chamber of Commerce, 1,100 of them feel this in an amplified way. The pain is amplified in that they are greater users of this product," said David Ross of the Duluth City Chamber of Commerce.
Commissioners tabled the issue for the time being. Discussion of a public information session is in the works.
