Duluth, MN (Northland’s NewsCenter) --- About 300 Northlander's came together in support of two children after their mother unexpectedly passed away.

Melissa Sundquist of Cloquet died of heart failure in her sleep in August.

She left behind two children, Trevor and Cambria ages 13 and 9.

About 80 businesses donated to the spaghetti dinner and silent auction.

All proceeds from this benefit will be deposited into a savings account for her children.

Missi's son, Trevor says he's thankful for the support of the community and hopes his sister will grow up to be a caring and noble woman like their mother.

"That she'll use it to get stronger,” he said. “That she'll stand up and make great decisions as she grows up."

About $3,500 was raised for Trevor and Cambria.

If you'd like to donate, an account is set up through Wells Fargo Banks.
