Duluth, MN(Northland’s NewsCenter) --- Hunting and gun rights are big issues for many voters, and both candidates in the 8th Congressional District headed into the fields to hunt Saturday morning.
Afterward, Republican incumbent Chip Cravaack hosted a 2nd Amendment rally to preserve the right to bear arms.
The National Rifle Association President, David Keene, joined Cravaack, along with dozens of sportsmen and firearm owners at the Fisherman's Corner in Duluth.
According to Keene, Cravaack received the NRA's endorsement, and has received an "A" rating, because of his voting record.
"Since Chip's been in Congress, he has been an "A" rated member of Congress,” Keene said. “He's been willing to step up [and] not just vote, but step up and defend the 2nd Amendment, defend sportsmen, [and] defend the outdoors."
DFL Challenger Rick Nolan campaigned around his hometown of Brainerd today and is putting on a family venison stew Saturday night.
