Crash near Floodwood sends two people to the hospital

Floodwood, MN (NNCNOW.com) - Two people were taken to the hospital Friday night following a two car crash north of Floodwood on Highway 2.

Authorities at the scene said a Chevy Suburban crossed lanes into oncoming traffic and struck the RAV4.

The Minnesota State Patrol said the driver of the RAV4, identified as Emmy Stage, 22, of Grand Rapids, had to be extricated and was flown to Essentia Health St. Mary's Hospital. Her injuries were said to be serious.

The driver in the Suburban, Bruce Beversorf, 60, of Eland, WI, was taken there by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.

No word on what led to the crash.
