Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - A downtown Duluth shop is being criticized on Facebook for a Martin Luther King Junior sale.
The sale at Global Village promises 25 percent off everything black.
The sign in the window and an online post detailing the sale are being called offensive and disgusting.
Comments are piling up on the store's Facebook Page.
The store's proprietor, Rachel Mock, said she's never had complaints about it before, until this year.
"This was the fourth year we've done this sale and we did it to honor and respect someone we admire. It's a little more than offensive that places have Columbus day sales and so this was our alternative to that.
Mock says based on the feedback, she will not continue the sale.
The store, located on Superior Street, sells everything from clothing to instruments.
A quick search on Google showed a number of national retailers also taking advantage of MLK day for promotions including Gap and Honda.
