Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com)--- It was the Battle of the Badges Thursday night at Wade Stadium as Duluth's Finest took on Duluth's Bravest in a friendly game of softball.

It was all part of the 7th Annual Guns N Hoses Softball Tournament, pitting the Duluth Fire Department against the Duluth Police Department.

The event benefits the Northern Lights Foundation, which raises money for children with life threatening illnesses.

The softball tournament was cancelled in 2012 due to the massive floods, and in 2013 due to rain.

Officials were unsure if the game was even going to happen this year because of the possible renovations to Wade Stadium, but everything fell in place and it turned out to be a beautiful night for a ball game.

"It's a fun night. We've raised some money for the Northern Lights Foundation. The fans have a good, entertaining night. There's some free food out here. It's a fun family night at wade stadium," said Ken Larson, President of the Northern Lights Foundation.

The fire department has never beat the police department in the tournament, but the fire department has always raised more money.
