Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - A lot of St. James Catholic School students in Duluth think their principal is pretty cool. Julianne Blazevic will actually be downright cold thanks to a challenge she made to the students.
Principal Blazevic promised to stay on the school's roof for one minute for every pound of food the student body collected. The 624 pounds of food collected translates into about 10 and a half hours out on the cold roof.
"No matter how cold it gets it is worth it for me. I'm so proud of the students here at St. James that they did that for people in need,” Blazevic said.
The principal will only leave the roof for bathroom breaks, even eating her lunch on the roof! The food will be donated to the local food shelf to help the needy during the upcoming holidays.
