Duluth ,MN (NNCNOW.com) --- Firefighters are often known for battling blazes, but this week the Duluth Fire Department is taking on a different kind of challenge.

Starting Monday , firefighters will take part in the "Fill the Boot" campaign, a fundraiser that raises money for kids with muscular dystrophy.

Crews will be out collecting donations at the intersections of Central Entrance and Arlington, Central Avenue and Grand, and Woodland and Arrowhead.

The funds will go to everything from flu shots to wheelchairs to sending kids to Camp Courage.

"We're pretty happy about helping our kids. Their good kids, they just need some extra to do the things we take for granted everyday," said Duluth firefighter Rob Morehouse.

The firefighters will be out now through Wednesday from 3 to 6 pm.
