Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) - Crews responded to a call of a grass fire on Pequaywan Lake Road around 2pm.

Officials were able to put out the fire before it reached a line of trees.

The fire grew to about one and a half acres.

Officials say that if the flames would have reached the trees, the fire could have been much bigger and much harder to contain.

Fire officials are warning that even with the recent rain in the Northland, Northern Minnesota is still under a high fire danger.
