Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - Alcohol addiction is a devastating disease, which is why forming a support group is essential to helping those with addiction problems.

The college of St. Scholastica's CLEAN program teamed up with Hazelden an alcohol and drug treatment center.

CLEAN is a sober living facility program helping students at St. Scholastica overcome their alcohol addiction.

Hazelden is a non profit organization in the twin cities which also helps people over come their addictions.

"In spiritual care we are working with the patients to develop positive spiritually that goes along with the program of alcoholics anonymous, helping them find a higher power that will work for them in recovery and become open to guidance from a higher power," said John MacDougall, the director of spiritual guidance at Hazelden.

This was the second in a series of talks, with the final speaker being Fred Holmquist on March 14, 2013.
