Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - About 650 Northland Moms and daughters participated in the 30th annual Mother's Day Walk Run behind the DECC, in Duluth, Saturday morning.

Each person who participated in the race received flowers from Angela's Bella Flora, who donated 700 flowers for the race. Students from Woodland Hills passed out the flowers.

They also grew the flowers that were used to make pots for Mother's Day.

Many ran in honor of their moms, of course.

"We came to honor our mother who died twenty years ago on May 12," said Pam Staveth Peterson, of International Falls, " to celebrate her life and celebrate Mother's Day together, and remember our mom."

After the walk, people also browsed the tables at the Health and Wellness expo in Paulucci Hall.
