Hibbing, MN (NNCNOW.com) --- A fire just outside of Hibbing destroyed a single family home Thursday night.
The fire broke out in the township of Leetonia, MN around 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
No one was in the home at the time and no injuries have been reported.
Seven area fire departments responded to the scene.
The fire marshal is on scene and is still investigating the cause of the blaze.
Firefighters were having problems with water flow due to the sub-zero temperatures.
"We were having a lot of problems with the hydrant being frozen. The city is having problems with water supply and the deep frost. Public utilities happened to be out in this location working on the frozen water line, so we are using a combination of hydrants and shuttling in water," said Erik Jankila, Battalion Chief at the Hibbing Fire Dept.
"It's negative 12 outside and they are fighting fire with water obviously and they needed a place to sit and warm up, so we are out here with our twelve passenger van," said Lt. Randy Stahl of the Salvation Army.
Stahl says the Salvation Army regularly helps out in emergency situations with food, water, and shelter in extreme weather conditions.
