Moose Lake's annual Agate Days usually draws a crowd and this year was no exception. People came from across the country to sell, buy and look at gems and minerals.
It was Tom Ling's 12th year at the show. He's been fascinated by gems since he was 15 years old.
"Having this many people who like rocks in one spot, you know we're together, "Ling said, "Rock hound to rock hound."
Tom and his wife, Cleo Ling, made the trip from Worthington, Minn. to come to Agate Days. Ling got his wife interested in rocks years ago.
"I think we learned it together. He has a much better memory about stuff than I do," she said.
Ana De Los Santos drove from California to come to Agate Days. The trip took her three days.
"It brings a lot of people, all agate collectors. It's so well done," De Los Santos said, "It's two days of having people [around] all day long."
In addition to the Gem and Mineral Show, Agate Days features an annual Agate Stampede. The Stampede draws hundreds of people, all eager to search for agate and over $300 in quarters in a pile of gravel.
Bob Anderson participated in the Stampede.
"It's a good time. They find some agates," he said.
There were over 90 booths at this year's Agate Days. The Gem and Mineral show runs through Sunday, July 17th. Hours on Sunday are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
