Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) If one businessman's vision is realized residents of Morgan Park may soon not have to travel far to grab a cup of coffee.

Paul Johnson, the former owner of Johnson Carpet One, bought the Lakeview Store Building and plans to add a few shops in it.

The multi-use strip mall was built by U.S. Steel in 1916 and was used by residents of Morgan Park for decades.

Through the years, the building has fallen into disrepair but work is beginning to make it a functional center once again.

Nick Sutton, a tenant of the building and owner of Twin Ports MMA, says he's excited to have stores move in and attract more customers for his business as well.

"We have people all the time talk about how it's kind of too bad that there's not businesses and, you know, maybe a coffee shop or something like that in the building, something that they can utilize so they don't have to go all the way to West Duluth to get that kind of service."

A coffee shop may open by the first of the year in the building, following that, a possible pizza parlor or postal office.
