Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) -- Hopefully you remembered to do something nice for your mom Sunday.

Today is Mother's Day and lots of sons and daughters headed over to The Rose Man in Duluth to pick up that last minute gift.

When it comes to moms...you usually can't go wrong with flowers.
Here's a tip for all of you mothers out there that received some flowers.

"Once you get the roses, you want to cut off about an inch off the bottom of the stems, get them in water, you could use one part 7-Up, 2/3's part water or flower food, either of those will keep them going for a good while," said Ferris.

The Rose Man is now under new ownership.

Kevin Ferris and Roz Randorf recently took over the operation.

They say things have been going smoothly so far.

The rose shop even ran out of carnations over the weekend because they were so busy.

But no worries...they plan on getting more in later this week.
