Superior, WI (NNCNOW.com)--- A new nine million dollar hotel is in the works along the waterfront in Superior.

Duluth-based ZMC hotels is hoping to begin construction in late fall or early winter on the Hampton Inn and Suites.

The hotel will be located on the bay between Perkins and the Bong Center on Highway 2 in Superior.

The 75 room hotel will bring in new jobs to the city...with 15 full time and 15 part time employees expected to be hired.

The project still needs approval from the City of Superior, but officials are excited for its potential.

"It will be the first new lodging in about twelve or fourteen years and we hope it triggers other development in the area. For the neighbors and the businesses it will give them another lodging choice, a first class room that they can be proud of," said Jon Driscoll, Chief Operating Officer for ZMC Hotels.

If all goes as planned, the hotel should be open for business in July of 20-15.
