Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com ) - The Duluth city council has approved its portion of funding to help make the Northern Lights Express a reality.
The proposed rail line would travel from Minneapolis to Duluth at a speed greater than 100MPH.
The city's resolution includes an authorized payment of its share of the alliance's cost, which totals twelve thousand $500.
City officials say they're ready to move full steam ahead.
"As long as we have such strong support, as we do from congressman Nolan, I'm looking to good collaboration and we'll see what happens with the state," Sharla Gardner, a Duluth City Council member, said.
Though Governor Dayton did not include funding for the Northern Lights in his proposal, the state budget is still a work in progress.
