Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - Three Twin Ports figure skaters are about to embark on a tour of a lifetime, you might even call it magical.
Disney is making dreams come true on ice for a few solid Northland skaters.
For Mickayla Lindberg and Cale Bergerson, figure skating was a dream reached an early age.
"As I grew up, I just realized I had such a fun time performing in front of people," said figure skater Cale Bergerson
That dream is now taking both to new heights.
"Two days from now I'll be on a plane heading to Florida to learn how to be a Disney skater," said Mickayla Lindberg.
Two weeks ago the duo received the chance of a lifetime to join 'Disney on Ice: Passport to Adventure' touring for nine months through North and South America.
An opportunity 19-year-old Lindberg says changed her life.
"The casting director, she said they had a position for me and that was kind of like the moment I've been waiting for all of my life," said Mickayla Lindberg.
With a combined twenty-six years of experience under their blades, the two say they couldn't have made it to their goal of joining the prestigious program without the confidence from their coaches.
"With them as role models and mentors, I was able to rise up to what I should've been skating, my level all along and really go for it this time," said Lindberg.
And it's that coach, Angie Lien-Pienaar, who will be touring with the Disney program throughout Asia.
"My training has made it possible for me to do these things and have these spectacular, amazing adventures around the world," said Angie Lein-Pienaar.
And whether the trio is touring Asia or the America's, they all agree,
Disney is making their dreams come true.
"Finally reaching the goal I've had since I was four, is the best feeling in the world."
The trio leaves for the 'Disney on Ice' tour this weekend, where they will spend a few weeks training for the program, and then the show hits the road through 2014.
Disney on Ice: Passport to Adventure will make a stop at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul on December 12-15.
