Update: Victim Identified in Fatal Car vs. Train Accident

Kelsey Township, (NNCnow.com) --- Authorities have released the name of the man who died early this morning after a car collided with a train in Kelsey Township, MN.

28 year old Adam John Sharp of Kelsey, MN died after his car struck a train stropped near the intersection of Arkola Road and Parssinen Road in Kelsey Township around 6 this morning.

The St. Louis County Sheriff's office reports the train was having mechanical problems and came to a stop blocking a crossing on Arkola Road off Highway Seven in Kelsey Township.

Authorities say there is a stop sign at the intersection but no crossing arms or blinking lights.

Life Flight was called but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials say fog may have been a factor in the crash. Authorities say that Sharp was on his way to work when he drive into the train.

The Minnesota State Patrol, Lifelink Air Ambulance, Kelsey Township First Responders, Meadowlands Ambulance and St. Louis County Sheriff's Volunteer Rescue Squad all responded to the scene.

Authorities are still investigating this incident.
