Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - Homeowners and businesses who suffered damaged shorelines, docks, and other structures from June's flooding may be able to speed up repairs.
Those in Koochiching and northern Saint Louis counties wanting to restore their shoreline to pre–flood condition are encouraged to head to the Minnesota DNR's website.
There, they may be able to quickly acquire the necessary repair permit by applying online for a general permit 2001 – 1172.
Before beginning repairs, people working on shorelines or stream beds that are at, or below, the high water level need to submit an application, attain approval, and pay a permit fee.
For repairs above high water level, you must also contact your local government to address zoning.
