Passenger Dies In Superior Collision

Superior, MN (NNCNOW.com) - One man is dead and a woman has been taken to the hospital after a pick–up truck and a semi collided at the intersection of North 28th Street and Hill Avenue in Superior.

According to law enforcement, the pick–up was traveling northbound on Hill Avenue and turned left in front of the semi that was traveling southbound, also on Hill Avenue.

The driver of the pick–up was transported to a nearby hospital.

The male passenger died.

A family friend happened to be driving nearby.

"I had seen the family members standing outside and I just wanted to be with them. They have been great a great family, so I wanted to be there for them," Adam Burhans, a family friend, said.

Adam Burhans says the couple was on their way to visit their grandchild at his nearby basketball game.

The driver of the semi–truck was not injured.
