Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - The fate of Rockridge Elementary School in Duluth has been up for debate since it closed two years ago.

Now the United Development Achievement Center has surfaced as a potential buyer.

UDAC is a non profit organization, regulated by the Minnesota Department of Human Service.

The organization offers programs and services for adults with disabilities.

Many in the area have expressed concern over the city proposal to change the zoning from R-1, one family residential, to R-2 which would allow multi-dwelling structures.

One neighborhood group has been actively involved in the process and likes the idea of UDAC moving in.

However Kerry Leider with Duluth Public Schools says they're not ready to do a deal as yet because they have interest from other potential buyers
