Proctor, MN - (Northland's NewsCenter) - Proctor senior high students picked up their paint brushes and rakes and took par today in their annual civic engagement day.
Seniors planned all of the volunteer events in the proctor community...from painting to raking people's yards...to running at 5-K to raise money for Special Olympics.
Proctor Senior Anthony Rogentine, says this is a day the seniors look forward to because they get the opportunity to give back to their community.
"It's feels pretty great...they really appreciate it. A lot of happy faces today when we came knocking. Some people didn't even know that we were coming today so they didn't have anything prepared, but they just thought it was one of the coolest things," Rogentine says.
After all the hard work was done, the schools held a barbeque to celebrate their work in the community.
