Duluth, MN (Northlands NewsCenter)
-- After June's flood decimated parts of Chester Park, the plan to shape its future will have to accommodate the damage. A new mini-master plan is now in the works.

A consulting company is working with the Duluth Parks and Recreation Department, and the public to set priorities and figure out what the park will look like in the future.

Skiing will be open this winter at Chester Bowl, and new run could be in the works for future seasons.

"We are looking at the ski hill, possibly having another run. We are looking at different cross county ski trails. One thing that came up is a separate trail for walking in the winter."

Park and Recreation officials say they will not pursue restoring the ski jumps for use.

They could be preserved historically.
