Duluth, MN (Northland's NewsCenter) -- Some of the world's best snowmobilers are making their way to Duluth this weekend.
Preparations are well underway for the 20th annual AMSOIL Duluth National Snocross. For some, traveling to Duluth for the big event has become a Thanksgiving tradition.
Because of recent mild temperatures, the ski hills at Spirit Mountain are not open, but enough snow was made for the SnoCross races.
"The crowd is going to have a great time with mild temperatures, a lot of snow on the track for the races and some really good races coming out this weekend so it'll be great competition," said Briana Johnson of Spirit Mountain.
The big event kicks off this Friday.
While the slopes may not be open, Spirit Mountain's Adventure Park will be, including the Timber Twister and Zip line.
SnoCross wraps up on Sunday.
