Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) --St. Louis County has developed a new app that allows users to access land record data anywhere.

The land explorer mobile app gives people the ability to search plots of land by address, name, or by parcel identification number.

The mobile app is intended for a variety of professions such as surveyors, appraisers, real estate agents, or the general public.

The free app became available in September for apple and android users.

Officials say the app has made it easier for people to get land information while out in the field.

"They had to go to the website or call our offices to gather the information, so the county really pushed automation and customer service through the app," said Darren Jablonski, Deputy Planning Director for St. Louis County.

There is also a desk top version which officials say has been the most popular feature on their website with about one point nine million hits.
