Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - Many say there is an undeniable energy building the Twin Ports Arts Community...that energy now has a new focus.
A collaboration of musicians, dancers, actors, sculptors, painters and poets have unveiled plans for a month long arts experience called "North By North."
Organizers say with 188 bands, 20 galleries, and 10 theaters and venues participating, the scope of the month–long festival is almost unheard of for a community the size of the Twin Ports.
North by North is a project of the Twin Ports Art Align, which works as a catalyst to stimulate vibrant arts culture in Duluth and Superior areas.
An organizer of the event says it's about time we show off our local art scene.
"This is sort of a—an experience that has been a long time coming but is one that—being able to see it through to this point is really thrilling," Richard Hansen, Chairman of North x North, said.
North By North lasts for one month and kicks off with the familiar Homegrown Music Festival.
Then it's followed by Gallery week, theater/ballet/symphony week, then Dylan Days, and wraps up with the Duluth Superior Film festival.
