Eveleth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - Eveleth continued its long time 4th of July tradition Friday morning with its annual parade down Grant Avenue.

The event included school marching bands, fire trucks and a handful of federal, state and local officials.

Senator Al Franken, Congressman Rick Nolan and Governor Mark Dayton were among the politicians shaking hands along the parade route.

Parade goers all shared the spirit of the fourth.

"It means that we have the honor and privilege to show a little thanks for everything that happened to this great country," said Rick Meholensky of Chisholm.

"It's Independence day. It's family day. Time to celebrate living here in the United States with family and friends," said Jessica Lahti of Hibbing.

Eveleth's 4th of July celebrations also included fireworks and a street dance Thursday night.
