Amateur gardeners will have the opportunity to get their feet wet and their hands dirty at Saturday's Urban Farm Tours by Superior Sustainable Farming Association.

Veteran and novice gardeners will have the chance to see what their neighbors are growing.

Eleven farms will showcase their gardens, educate about operations, and swap ideas.

Included in the eleven is the Lincoln Park Community Garden.

"We can have events at the gardens to bring the neighborhood closer, it's crime prevention, its relationship building and a community organizing tool that's really a positive thing," says Rheanna Letsos of the Duluth Community Garded Program.

Letsos says another one of the great things about the tour is showing Duluthians that they don't have to live in a rural area to have access to fresh produce year round.

The self–guided Urban Farm Tours took place from 1–5 Saturday afternoon.
