Duluth, MN (Northland's Newscenter) - With the season of giving upon us, what better way to kick it off than with preparing collection boxes for this year's Toyland Express?

Junior Kiwanis Key Club and Circle K members from St. Scholastica and Denfeld High School began wrapping and assembling the boxes that will be distributed next week.

When the volunteers are finished tonight, there will be 170 completed collection boxes.

"We couldn't do it without the community stepping in and donating the toys and dropping them off at area businesses or if they have a toy drive after work. We definitely need that for this program."

This year the Salvation Army's mission is to exceed last year's total of more than 21 thousand toys.

The deadline to sign up for both the ToyLand Express and the Salvation Army's Christmas Dinner Basket program is November 30th.

You can make your donation at the Northlands Newscenter starting next Friday during the Christmas of the North Parade.
