(Northland’s NewsCenter) --- About 50 wolves have now been harvested in Minnesota and registered with the Department of Natural Resources.
The East Central Zone has reached its harvest limit and will close at the end of shooting hours Monday.
About 20 wolves have been harvest in both the Northeast and Northwest zones.
A total of 3,600 licensed wolf hunters are taking part in this early hunting season.
The DNR is allowing a maximum of 200 wolves to be taken in the early hunt, which continues through Nov. 18 or until the quota is reached.
On Tuesday morning, the DNR offices in Two Harbors will be registering and identifying wolf carcasses and pelts from 9 until 12.
