Stanley Peter Madsen, 94, passed away Oct. 30, 2011, in Mercy Hospital in Moose Lake.
Stan was born Oct. 24, 1917, in Askov, to J.P. and Sena Madsen. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Battle of the Bulge. Stan graduated from Dunwoody Institute, and went on to own Madsen Refrigeration.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, photography, his family and friends, and being in the outdoors.
Stan was preceded in death by his son, Jim.
Stan is survived by Irmgard, his wife of 69 years; son Jerry, daughter Judy (Kevin) Bergquist; grandchildren Jodie (Terry) Bird; Kirsten (Scott) Gabriel; Jon Madsen; Peter (Brigitta) Bergquist; Zane Madsen; and Zachary Madsen; five great-grandchildren, Jeremy, Allison, Ethan, Isaac, and Asher; and his sister, Ida Hallstrom.
Visitation: 1 until the 2 p.m. memorial service Thursday, Nov. 3, in Hope Lutheran Church, 204 Elm Ave., Moose Lake.
Interment at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery at a later date.
